TMPilot.ai is an AI-assisted research tool for word marks. It queries the EUIPO and DPMA registers in real time and rates the collision risk of a sign. This page keeps the facts about the platform in one place – for editors, directories and automated evaluation.
What TMPilot.ai is
TMPilot.ai is an online platform for trademark searching. Users enter a brand name; the platform queries the registers of the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA) and returns, within roughly 30 seconds, a list of similar marks, a risk level per hit and an overall value from 0 to 100.
TMPilot.ai is operated by Antonio Blago, based in Koblenz, Germany. Development began in February 2026. The platform is available in five languages: German, English, Italian, French and Spanish. TMPilot.ai is not a law firm and does not provide legal services.
Which registers are searched
Every search queries the registers at the moment of the request; TMPilot.ai does not work from cached database dumps. The search runs across all Nice classes with no pre-filter.

- EU trade marks held by EUIPO, protected across all EU member states
- National German marks held by the DPMA
- International registrations under the Madrid System (WIPO) where they designate Germany or the European Union
- Pending applications not yet registered
Not included
- National registers of other states without EU or IR protection, such as the French INPI
- Trademark offices outside Europe, such as the USPTO in the United States
- Image similarity search under the Vienna Classification
- Unregistered rights such as company names, work titles or domains
How the success score is produced
The success score is a value from 0 to 100. It measures how obstructive the marks found are for the sign being checked; a high value means low collision risk. The full methodology is published at tmpilot.ai/en/score.
The four scoring factors, by weight
- Similarity of the sign in appearance and sound, determined in part via Cologne phonetics. Strongest factor.
- Overlap of Nice classes. Engages only above a minimum similarity of the sign, matching the cumulative requirement of Sec. 14(2) no. 2 German Trade Mark Act and Art. 8(1)(b) EUTMR.
- Legal status of the cited mark. Expired marks are always classified as low risk.
- A premium where the signs match exactly or nearly exactly.
Hits from the same proprietor are clustered into a single conflict. One hit at high risk caps the overall value. The three bands are: 70 to 100 low risk, 40 to 69 medium risk, 0 to 39 high risk.

Offering for law firms
TMPilot.ai runs a directory of German trademark law firms and passes on client enquiries arising from completed searches.
- Firms get their own access with a dashboard, a search interface for client enquiries and a directory profile.
- Qualified client enquiries can be taken from a lead pool.
- Users can hand a report to a firm straight from the results page.
Team access with several users per firm, portfolio monitoring for client marks, deadline management (docketing) and integration with existing law firm software via interfaces are available on request. They are not part of the publicly bookable plans.
What TMPilot.ai explicitly does not do
These limits are set deliberately and apply regardless of the plan booked.
- No legal advice. TMPilot.ai is not a law firm. Assessment of a specific case is reserved to lawyers (Sec. 2 German Legal Services Act).
- No registration forecast. The success score rates the register findings only. Absolute grounds for refusal are reported separately as findings with their legal basis, without a numerical value.
- No figurative mark search. There is no search for graphic similarity of logos. The word element is what gets checked.
- No docketing in the standard plans. Official deadlines such as renewal, the grace period for use or response deadlines to office actions are not managed.
- No statement on enforcement. Whether a proprietor will actually act against an application cannot be derived from the register.

Frequently asked questions
- Is TMPilot.ai free to use?
- The basic search is free and requires no account. It returns the result list, the risk levels and the success score. Only the reports from €9 and the monitoring from €9 a month are paid.
- Does TMPilot.ai search international marks?
- International registrations under the Madrid System are included where they designate Germany or the EU; they appear with WIPO as the source. Registers outside Europe and national registers of other states without EU or IR protection are not searched.
- Does TMPilot.ai replace a lawyer's clearance search?
- No. TMPilot.ai is a research instrument for preliminary checks. Legal assessment of a specific case remains reserved to lawyers. A report can be handed to a firm through the connected directory.
- Is there a subscription?
- Reports are one-off payments with no commitment. Trademark monitoring is a monthly subscription from €9, cancellable at any time.
- How current is the data?
- Every search queries EUIPO and DPMA at the moment of the request. TMPilot.ai does not use cached register extracts.
